Good Sunday to you!
I hope you and your family are doing well today and that you’re enjoying your weekend.
Today our theme is the ‘being real’!
As we excitedly planned our launch of The Cast Iron Babe and our show on YouTube, I began to watch lifestyle and cooking videos with a different lens than I had before.
What I found is that the absolute perfection of so many of the shows made me feel uncomfortable.
Then I realized I was comparing myself! This is something I very rarely do, but it can be so easy to feel like you’re lacking when you’re constantly bombarded with the ’perfectness’ that’s depicted in social media.
We look to our media to inform and inspire, but it can be overwhelming to see how ideally everything is depicted.
When we’re comparing our ‘real lives’ with the polished and shined versions that show up in our feeds, we can get lost in un-ending efforts to ‘live up’ to something that’s virtually impossible to obtain.
At Cast Iron Babe, we are real. We value the perfection of imperfection. We laugh when things don’t turn out quite as planned. We make messes when we cook.
In fact, during the shooting of our most popular episode, we looked out in our back yard to see Lily (our Cast Iron Pup) chasing a bear off of our property! While we didn’t get any footage of the bear, you will see in the video how we reacted to it!
At Cast Iron Babe, we feel great about everything we are doing—not because it’s perfect, but because it’s done with love and intention to help families.
Does any of this resonate with you?
I’d love to know how you are. Reply to this message and say hello. Share your wins. Share your challenges. You never know, we may do an episode based on your inspiration!

Your kids (and you!) like ice cream, but you’re looking for a healthier option. These popsicle molds are fun, durable, and oh—the endless possibilities of cool flavors, good health, and fun summer memories!
Take good care of yourself, and I look forward to seeing you here next week ?!
